The Learjet 55 series was Learjet's first departure from small light jets. The all-new longer and wider fuselage was mated to the high performance Longhorn wing of the 28 and 29 models. Also noteworthy of the 55 is its offering of an aft, rather than forward, lavatory. The 55B offered additional gross takeoff weight and improved avionics. The 55C had standard thrust reversers and single-point refueling, plus the addition of aft stabilization delta fins as used on the Learjet 31.This aircraft can be RVSM certified when Supplemental Type Certificate ST01050SE is complied with.
